Drinking and driving is a serious problem. That's why I'd like to announce that I've joined Alcoholics Anonymous. I've been going to meetings almost every night. It's a little bit out of the way, and I only know their first names, but there's no better place to pick a designated driver.

The NYC transit strike is highly disruptive. Fortunately, I am not affected. Yes, that is really me.

The thing that annoys me about Christmas is the perverse incentives it creates. George Bush can be as bad as he wants, and what does he get? Coal. Why should he be a good global citizen, if he can be an asshole and Santa will reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources?

I have frequent flyer miles on about 8 different airlines. Most of them are way under the amount to get a free flight, so they just sit there unused, and will probably expire.

Then I read today that all these sites let you buy "things" other than flights with your miles. For example, at American Airlines, for only 16000 miles, you can have 40 subscriptions to Vibe.
